Event 1 — Dunstable Lions

Course

About 7.75 km (4.8 miles) on mostly muddy and grassy footpaths and bridleways, with a couple of short gravelly sections to cross and a couple of hills, but no rivers. The start is close to race HQ. The footpaths are public rights of way also used by horse riders; there should not be any riders out on the day, but please take care if you pass any. Parking

Parking is at Dunstable Cricket Club (75 spaces) and Totternhoe FC (40 spaces). Parking is limited, so car sharing is paramount: access to the car parks will only be available to those who car share. Look out for car park signs. Additional roadside parking is available within the village, and there is further parking in Dunstable at Marina Drive, Beacon Avenue and Coombe Drive, just up the hill, or at Spinney Crescent (LU6 1AS), about half a mile's walk away. Please park with care if you use residential parking, and allow plenty of time as you may need to walk to race HQ. Race HQ is in the net hall at the Cricket Club, and the start is on the lane between the Cricket Club and the Football Club.

Facilities

Toilets are available in the Cricket Club and the Football Club. Refreshments are available afterwards, including tea and coffee at the Football Club and rolls and cakes at the Cricket Club. Changing facilities and showers are at the Football Club. Kit and baggage can be left in the main HQ area at the Cricket Club. Club flags and gazebos can be brought along and put up at the Football Club if required.

Please bring a cup for a hot drink afterwards and car share where ever possible.
